Figures released from SIMI show that the extremely popular Nissan Qashqai is the best selling car in Ireland for September. The Qashqai has received many favourable reviews since its launch in late February with its distinctive styling making it a big hit. Qashqai styling is a marriage of the sleek shape of a passenger hatchback with the strength of a 4x4 to create something fresh and different in the new car market.
In May, the Qashqai was awarded the maximum five-star rating for adult occupant protection from the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), recording the highest ever score in that category.
Think this sounds too good to be true- your right, the Qashqai is mean- very mean!
Tests carried out at the Nissan Technical Centre Europe (NTCE), prove that not only is the Qashqai top on sales and safety, it also has extremely good fuel efficiency figures. Test drivers took turns piloting a 1.5 dCi Qashqai from the southwest coast of England to the northern tip of Scotland on one tank of fuel. When the participants crossed the finish line there was still seven litre of fuel left in the tank, enough to travel another 176Km’s. The 1.5 dCi engine delivers fuel economy and C02 emission levels comparable to a Micra.
